MULTIPLE SLOW DRAINS SUGGEST A MORE SERIOUS PROBLEM
If you are experiencing multiple slow drains at your residence, this is a good indicator there may be a problem with the plumbing within your residence, service line, or with the LMSA pump station or public sewer lines. WHEN IN DOUBT CALL US OUT
SILENCING THE ALARM
If there is a problem with the grinder pump station it will alert the Control Panel. The control panel is green or gray with a red light located on top. The alarm will make a loud audible noise and the red light will come on. In order to silence the alarm you may press the silent button on the side of the panel. However, this DOES NOT fix the problem with the grinder pump station or sewer connection. Please note that there are some stations in the system that do not have the alarm silence feature.
Discontinue water use until the Technician has responded to the alarm and can diagnose and repair the problem.
WHAT TO DO DURING A POWER OUTAGE TO AVOID SANITARY SEWER OVERFLOWS & BACKUPS
The grinder pump your residence is connected to is powered by electricity and will not function during a power outage. In order to prevent waste from backing up into the lowest sink, tub, or toilet in your home, or onto the ground, severely limit the interior use of water until power is restored. This means, if you are using a generator during a power outage, please do not shower, wash dishes, or do laundry and limit flushing the toilet.
Please do not obstruct access to the grinder pump stations by parking vehicles, boats, trailers, recreational vehicles, installing fence, etc. in the ROW/easements to the station. Please avoid planting trees, scrubs, other greenery, landscaping rocks, and other decorative ornaments around the easement/ROW area of grinder pump stations.
During the winter months please remember not to push snow in the area of the grinder pump stations or in the ROW. If you use a snow removal service, please inform them of this as well. Technicians may need to use vehicles, trailers, generators, and other necessary equipment to make repairs to the station.
