Sanitary Sewer Overflow (SSO) Reporting

The Lake Mitchell Sewer Authority prides itself in providing consistent professional wastewater collection services to approximately 890 customers.   Through 33,500ft of pipeline, 205 grinder pump stations, 9 lift stations, and miles of pressurized conduit, Sanitary Sewer Overflows (SSO's) will occasionally occur.   Some of these may result in sewer back-ups.

The Authority is required to report wastewater Sanitary Sewer Overflows (SSO's) to the DEQ, Health Department, and the local newspaper.   The Health Department determines whether sampling and other public hazards exist.

Wastewater spills or wastewater overflows are not the same as basement back-ups that homeowners often experience when their own piping system fails or is plugged.

This section provides reports of our reportable Sanitary Sewer Overflows – SSO’s.
