Funding

  • Representative Joseph Fox notified LMSA that $2.41 million was allocated to LMSA’s Improvement Project in Michigan’s 2025/2026 Budget.
  • Congressman John Moolenaar notified LMSA that $1.5 million was allocated to LMSA’s Improvement Project for the 2026 Appropriation Funding.
  • LMSA received a $50,000 MIO TAC grant in 2026 to offset the engineering cost for the Improvement Project.  

Wastewater Improvement Project

The Wastewater Improvement Project work started in 2024 and will continue over the next few years.

The improvement project consists of rehabilitating 205 existing grinder pump stations to include new pumps, piping, valves, controls, electric services, and appurtenances. Televising and cleaning of 4,400 l.f. of gravity sewer main and spot repairs and three new portable generators. The system also has 9 lift stations, two of them were rehabilitated in 2014. The remaining 7 submersible pump stations were rehabilitated over the past couple of years that included new pumps, piping, valves, controls, electric services, and appurtenances. All nine submersible station now have permanent generators installed.
