Technicians are on-call 24 hours a day and 365 days a year, so there is no need to wait until business hours to call. Failure to report sewer alarms could cause sewer backups to occur in your home and/or create sewer overflows.
Please provide the phone operator with your name, address, and telephone number with a detailed explanation of the problem.
A Technician will be dispatched to the site to complete a diagnostic of the problem and complete any necessary repairs.
If there is a problem with the grinder pump station it will alert the Control Panel. The control panel is green or gray with a red light located on top. The alarm will make a loud audible noise and the red light will come on.
Prior to silencing the alarm call the emergency number.
In order to silence the alarm you may press the silent button on the side of the panel. However, this DOES NOT fix the problem with the grinder pump station or sewer connection. Please note that there are some stations in the system that do not have the alarm silence feature.
Discontinue water use until the Technician has responded to the alarm and can diagnose and repair the problem.
To avoid sanitary sewer overflow & backups during a power outage, please note the grinder pump your residence is connected to is powered by electricity and will not function during a power outage. In order to prevent waste from backing up into the lowest sink, tub, or toilet in your home, or onto the ground, severely limit the interior use of water until power is restored. This means, if you are using a generator during a power outage, please do not shower, wash dishes, or do laundry and limit flushing the toilet.
Please do not obstruct access to the grinder pump stations by parking vehicles, boats, trailers, recreational vehicles, installing fence, etc. in the ROW/easements to the station. Please avoid planting trees, scrubs, other greenery, landscaping rocks, and other decorative ornaments around the easement/ROW area of grinder pump stations.
During the winter months please remember not to push snow in the area of the grinder pump stations or in the ROW. If you use a snow removal service, please inform them of this as well. Technicians may need to use vehicles, trailers, generators, and other necessary equipment to make repairs to the station.
